Did a bunch of research which is more like shopping to me on finding some suitable power plants for the project. I am going to eventally to acquire a some products and just test them out and see what kind of usable power I can expect to get out of them.

There is this site Jensen Steam which seems to deal more with display setups and showing how steam works.

I really like this vertical boiler from Stuart Models the SV4, but the price is rather high. The engines are also rather expensive for the D10.

Tinypower prices seem more in line with what I would like to pay. The 2v10 they offer is some what reasonably priced and also has self start capabilities which i very much like. Sadly it does not appear they offer a vertical boiler setup.

PM Research Inc. does have a vertical boiler, not as flashy as I would like but it would do. It is also a dry fuel boiler so easy to test with and not have to keep on refilling with a butane/propane mix. There 2A steam engine is also really cheap so should be good for testing things out. But I found this gem on the second page of their steam engines. It is a marine steam engine which I just instantly fell in love with the minute I saw it. If it works just as good as it looks I will be in business. Since the marine engines operate off a shaft it gives me more to work with. Of course it doesn’t offer a fly wheel so it may not run as smooth.

But as I don’t know yet what the minimum amount of power I will need all this search into steam may come crashing done and the scale may just get ahead of me. I redid the design of the main body of the project some increasing the height and decreasing some width on the outer edges which will actually give me more interior space.
